Aldo BAKKER @mudac, Lausanne

Pl. de la Cathédrale 6, Ch -1005 Lausanne
Tue - Sun: 11am - 18 pm

Dutch designer Aldo Bakker produces objects that are mostly shaped from one single material such as wood, ceramics, or copper. They seem strangely familiar reminding us of things we have seen and used before. This sense of recognition lures us in. Because then the objects start questioning fixed ides on functionality, logic and aesthetics. The works that Aldo Bakker has drawn and crafted, and then re-drawn and re-crafted, are exceptional for the way they challenge our perception of the ordinary. Aldo Bakker - PAUSE Lausanne demonstrates his mastery of the extra-ordinary. Not by being outrageous but through subtlety and absolute precision of execution.

The exhibition was created by CID (Grand-Hornu, Belgium) and adapted and supplemented for its presentation at mundac.
