Hilario ISOLA "the sleepers" @ AAA project space Vienna

The Sleeper is a project where the consumption of the substance makes the works in the exhibition fine and ethereal, as much as the personal and cultural memory that the artist always tries to awaken.
This show is built on a series of remains that at the same time are natural and cultural. Starting from the grape-stalks that compose the large face of the Aruspice, passing by the apples devoured from the inside by bumblebees, arriving to a partly decomposed painting by the artistís great-grandfather.
The artist sheds light to fragments of a forgotten landscape, something that is asleep and where organic and natural elements coexist with archaic †faces of fortune tellers, prophets, farmers and peasants.
These shapes blend themselves in the artworks, in order to vanish and confuse themselves in the memory of a deeper and sacred connection with nature and the environment.
