Who is REBECCA HORN? An inventor, director, author, composer or poet? Or maybe all of them together? She sees herself primarily as a choreographer whose creative focus is always on people and their relationship to nature, culture, technology, biological capital as well as to the human and non-human.
From large-format works on paper from the 1960s, onto which Horn applied paint, ink and pencil with a powerful style in order to recreate the movements of nature, to her “Painting machine. Aria in Black”, the Haus der Kunst in Munich is now celebrating its 80th birthday with a magnificent world-class retrospective (until 13.10.).
